Meet the Daniel Glass Trio . . .
Jazz, Funk, Rock, Prog or Jam?
The answer is YES!
Led by award-winning drummer, author, and educator Daniel Glass, this trio of New York City's best and baddest also includes Sean Harkness on guitar and Michael O'Brien on bass. The group's collective credits span an obscenely eclectic array of top-tier artists: Bette Midler, Gene Simmons, Brian Setzer, Royal Crown Revue, Trey Anastasio, Harry Connick Jr., Liza Minnelli, Jose Feliciano, Kathleen Turner, the Manhattan Transferâs Janice Siegel, Mike Ness from Social Distortion and Countess Luann de Lesseps from the Real Housewives of New York.
In essence, these guys can play anything. And when they began working together in 2016, the power of three fused into a single musical vision that has been blowing the minds of audiences across the U.S. and Europe ever since. From intimate club gigs to festival stages, the Daniel Glass Trio will take you on a musical journey that is as infectious as it is unforgettable.
The groupâs debut release - entitled "BAM!" - showcases a free-wheeling improvisational style that bounces between funk, rock, jazz and psychedelia. The repertoire includes a mixture of stellar original compositions and unexpected covers that bring a totally new perspective. The list includes âI Feel Free,â âScarborough Fair,â âLet âEm In,â âEyes of the Worldâ and an eye-popping version of âSmoke On The Waterâ (yes, THAT "Smoke on the Water"). This band defies characterization! You just have to see it for yourself.

Daniel Glass first came to prominence in the early 1990s as a member of the Los Angeles-based powerhouse swing septet Royal Crown Revue. His fierce drumming powered the bandâs hit song âHey Pachuco!â, which found massive mainstream success when it was featured in the 1993 Jim Carrey film, The Mask. Danielâs tenure with RCR (spanning 19 years and nine albums) was characterized not only by countless world tours, but also a growing interest in the evolution of drumming and American popular music. To date, Daniel has published five books and three DVDs on these topics. He's presented more than 300 clinics worldwide, and is an instructor on Drumeo, the world's largest online drum education platform.
Relocating to New York City in 2010, Daniel quickly established himself on the scene, landing a job as the Monday night house drummer at the legendary Birdland jazz club (a position he still holds today). Daniel also created an annual five-day Drumming Intensive that attracts musicians from around the world. It was in this setting that he first tasked Harkness and OâBrien to join him as the house band. What began as a project designed for music education quickly evolved into something extraordinary. The Daniel Glass Trio was born.

"The trio is killer! The guitar player is fantastic and you and the bassist are super locked. Love it!"
â¨Steve Smith (drummer for Journey and Vital Information)
This ensemble delivered a performance that was nothing short of mesmerizing. The evening was a thrilling journey through jazz, funk, and re-imagined classics, with each musician bringing their own brand of artistry to the forefront.
Times Square Chronicles
The Daniel Glass Trio demonstrates that jazz and rock are inherently more alike than they are different. The trio draws on music from both sides of the aisle, as they say in Congress, and approaches all of these works on a level playing field, without any kind of inherent bias.
â¨Will Friedwald (Music Critic, The Wall Street Journal)
With both a keen respect for musical history and a bent toward the innovative and adventurous, the group's latest recording (entitled BAM!) provides very satisfying twists and turns.
